Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notice
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Snow Day Predictor Canada respects intellectual property rights. We comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) for content hosted on our site and made available to US-based audiences, and we also accept notices under the Canadian Copyright Act“Notice and Notice” regime (sections 41.25 to 41.27) for Canadian rights holders. This page explains how to submit a complaint, what a valid complaint must include, and how we respond.
For all notices, email admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.com.
1. Our position on copyright
- We respect the rights of copyright holders and treat valid takedown notices as a priority.
- We respond promptly to properly-formatted DMCA notices and Canadian Notice-and-Notice complaints.
- We may forward Canadian notices to the alleged infringer under sections 41.25 to 41.27 of the Canadian Copyright Act rather than removing material immediately, as the Canadian regime permits.
- We never charge a fee to file a complaint and we do not require you to use a paid lawyer service.
2. Filing a DMCA takedown notice
To submit a DMCA takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), email admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.com with all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (registration number if available, or a representative list if the notice covers multiple works).
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material on our site with enough detail to let us locate it — the full URL, an image filename, a quoted paragraph, or a screenshot is ideal.
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) you may be liable for damages, including costs and lawyer’s fees, if you knowingly misrepresent that material on our site is infringing.
3. Submission email and subject line
- Email: admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.com
- Subject line:“DMCA Takedown Notice” (or “Notice and Notice Complaint” for Canadian filings).
- We acknowledge receipt within 5 business days of a properly-formatted complaint.
- After confirming a notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the material promptly — typically within 72 hours of acknowledgement.
4. Counter-notification process
If you believe your content was removed in error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) by emailing admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.comwith subject line “DMCA Counter-Notification” and the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and the location at which it appeared on our site before removal.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, the courts of Ontario, Canada — where Snow Day Predictor Canada is operated.
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice, or that person’s agent.
5. What happens after a counter-notification
- We forward a copy of the counter-notification to the original claimant within a reasonable time.
- If the original claimant does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed an action seeking a court order against the alleged infringer, we may restore the removed material.
- We will not act as the arbiter of who is “right” on the underlying copyright question — that remains a matter for the parties and, if necessary, the courts.
6. Repeat infringer policy
- Consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), we terminate access for users — including specific IP addresses and email addresses where applicable — who appear to be repeat infringers.
- We may report patterns of repeat infringement to applicable authorities, copyright agents, and upstream service providers.
- We keep an internal record of notices and counter-notices so we can identify repeat infringer patterns over time.
7. Canadian Copyright Act — Notice and Notice
Snow Day Predictor Canada is operated from Canada. Canadian rights holders may file a notice under sections 41.25 to 41.27 of the Canadian Copyright Act. Notices should be sent to the same address ( admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.com) and should include:
- The name and address of the claimant.
- Identification of the work or other subject-matter to which the claimed infringement relates.
- The claimant’s interest or right with respect to the copyright in the work.
- The location data (URL) of the electronic location to which the claimed infringement relates.
- The infringement that is claimed.
- The date and time of the commission of the claimed infringement.
Under the Canadian Notice-and-Notice regime, we are required to forward your notice to the person to whom the relevant electronic location belongs and to retain records, but we are not required to disable the content without a court order.
8. What is NOT a valid notice
The following do not qualify as copyright complaints and will not result in content removal under this procedure:
- Disagreement with the editorial position, methodology, or tone of an article we have published.
- Trademark disputes — please use a separate complaint with subject line “Trademark complaint” sent to admin@snowdaypredictorcanada.com.
- Defamation, privacy, or personal-data concerns — these are handled under separate processes; contact us through our regular channels with details of the issue.
- Complaints about content that is not hosted by Snow Day Predictor Canada (for example content embedded from a third-party platform) — please direct those to the platform that actually hosts the content.
9. Designated DMCA agent

10. Modifications
We may update this notice procedure from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our operations, or our designated agent. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will also be reflected here for at least 30 days before they take effect, where practicable.
